My all time favorite yarn to use is red hearts retro stripes. I make a lot of amigurumi so the rather rough feel to the yarn doesn’t make a huge difference. I personally don’t think it has a tough feel to it, but if you ask others, most will say that it does. My second favorite yarn is Flamenco stripes. Also red heart. If you cant tell, my brand is bright!
Besides those multi color yarns, I enjoy using brava worsted yarn from Knitpicks. It is a very soft yarn that flows right through my knitting machine. They offer fun new color options that I cant wait to get my hands on! You can shop this yarn using the link below.
This is one of my yarn hauls from Wecrochet. Brava worsted weight yarn is one of the only yarns that flows through my knitting machine with ease! Its my go to product to stock up on during sales. My second favorite yarn from Wecrochet is their faux fur line. To be perfectly honest with you i didn’t even know they carried it until a 2 am shopping spree recently.

Lets talk tags. Product tags can get expensive when you are moving a lot of inventory. And between tags and business cards and other paper items, i find that tags are one thing that you can make DIY and professional and save yourself a few bucks along the way. So if you’re like me and enjoy a fun DIY, keep on reading.
I purchased a rubber stamp face with my business logo on it from etsy, it was relatively inexpensive and my husband made a cute handle mount for it. I can use it for virtually anything! I currently use mine for tags and thank you cards but you could use it for paper bags at markets for your items too. For my tags i purchase blank, brown paper tags with the hole punch already there and stamp away. If you wanted to be even more crafty you could print your own tags on card stock. Canva has several blank tag outlines. ( I did this for part of my wedding favors )
When it comes to crochet hooks i tend to grab whatever is in my to-go crochet bag or the cup on my desk. But if i had to choose a favorite hook i would say that is ANY tapered hook. They flow better with my crochet style vs. an inline hook. Now you may be wondering what these fun hooks to the right are, they are handmade hooks by The Clay Bean Company. She is a maker local to me, and she creates some beautiful hooks that can be hard to get your hands on. If you get the chance, i recommend visiting her page to take a look!
Next i wanted to share with you my thrifty take on using pollyfill. I use mostly pollyfill from stuffed animals that are on clearance after holiday’s and things like that. They are new and clean but its half the price of a bag of polyfill. I have even been able to find new bags of polyfill at thrift stores. I am a thrifter at heart so to be able to incorporate it into my business is very satisfying.
The tapered hook is pictured on the left, and the inline hook is pictured on the right.
